Krabi Hotel Prices: We Checked 60 Hotels Against Booking.com
26 had a lower trade rate. Here's every result.
We checked 60 hotels across Krabi's beach towns — Ao Nang, Ko Lanta, Railay, Phi Phi — against their public Booking.com rate. 26 had a real trade rate below it, from 2% up to 65% lower, and ten of those twenty-six were at least 20% cheaper. Below is every hotel where we found a saving, sorted largest gap first.
What we found
- 43% of the hotels we checked had a lower trade rate — 26 of 60, ranging from 2% to 65% below Booking.com's public price.
- Ao Nang dominates the list. 12 of the 26 hotels with a lower trade rate — nearly half — are in Ao Nang, more than any other Krabi-area beach town.
- The biggest dollar gaps skew toward 5-star resorts. The six largest dollar differences we found — The Tubkaak Krabi, Banyan Tree Krabi, Anana Ecological Resort, Outrigger Phi Phi Island Resort, Rayavadee and Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra — are all 5-star properties, even though percentage savings vary more by hotel than by star rating.

The pattern holds across price tiers: Ao Nang's dense hotel supply and the 5-star resorts' bigger dollar gaps are the two clearest signals in this batch.
Why is the trade rate lower here?
Hotels sell the same room through more than one channel, and the prices don't have to match. Public rates on Booking.com and the hotel's own site are usually held to rate parity agreements. Trade rates sit outside those: they're priced through distribution contracts, net-rate agreements and closed-user-group allocations sold to travel agents and wholesalers rather than the open market. How much lower a specific hotel's trade rate runs depends on its own distribution contracts, supplier margins, and how much inventory it's allocating to that channel for those dates, not one fixed formula.
